Week Nine

I took a trip to New York City this weekend with some friends from the south. They had never been to the city before so it was a whole new experience for them. They were looking at the city through fresh eyes. Now I've been to the city countless times, but I decided to bring my Rebel with a 28-135mm lens instead of just a powershot. I tried to capture some shots as if it was the first time I was in the city. Granted this was a casual shoot, but I wanted to snap shots of objects that are commonly overlooked in the city, but are crucial for completion. Here's several of the shots I snapped.

Week Seven

Although I'm a bit behind this week with my weekly photo, it was with good reasoning! However, no matter which reason I use, an excuse is an excuse. Hopefully these photos I took today will excuse my procrastination. I took my friend Rachael to Waterbury, CT, the town green area for a shoot. We mainly stayed at one building, the church. There were so many bold shadows, the three o'clock sunshine was perfect to work with, and we did so many different poses working with steps, columns, doors, and railings. Because Rachael is 4'11", I definitely had to keep away from angles that would make her look even shorter. Shooting next to huge brass doors and columns never fails to show size and comparison, so I thought it would work really well with Rachael's height. I really enjoyed shooting her because she has a way with photos. She has an energy that wants to try new things, new locations, new emotions, and she's willing to try strange poses in public places without throwing off the seriousness of the photo! Over all, it was a very successful day! We got a ton of nice pictures, despite the wind and cold, and had a great time! ~Rachel

Week Five

Some friends of mine opened up a Salon in Southington, CT several months ago, Couture Salon. Already they are booming in business. They had a "Glam Night" this past Thursday night introducing their new Motives products by Lauren Ridenger, the same make-up that the Kardashian sisters wear, and some awesome discount for the evening. Couture Salon has such a trendy, vintage, and classy design with a staff to match it. I was honored to go and shoot some photos of the evening's events! Check out their website for all your hair and makeup needs!www.couturehairsalon.com

Week Three

I couldn't help but be absolutely fascinated with the littlest things in life this week. Something positive can come from everything.
For instance, crazy amounts of snow, they work
perfect for a weekly blog :)
