Week Twelve

I had a band shoot this past week with Road To Forever featuring Judah Thomas, Dan O'Connor, and Angel Ortiz. It was shot at a warehouse in Plantsville, CT around 1:30 in the afternoon. I loved the different scenery that I had to work with, as well as the guys. It was a ton of fun and they were all easy to work with as well as perfect lighting. Over all it was a fantastic day for a photoshoot! You can check out Road to Forever at www.roadtoforeverband.com

Week Ten

I had a shoot yesterday with a lovely young couple, Shawn and Brittany, and they wanted to do a shoot in downtown New Haven at Yale University. It was so much fun to work with the two and I loved being able to shoot in the courtyards outside on the Yale campus. There are so many photo opportunities there with all of the architecture and the structures, I would have shot for hours. Unfortunately, we had about an hours worth to walk around and find areas to shoot and then we had to leave. So I'm definitely looking forward to shooting with this couple again on a nicer day(without rain and snow) and for a longer period of time. We shot some photos inside the Yale library, but because the lighting was so dim, I had to shoot at a higher ISO which resulted in some grainy pictures, and I didn't have a monopod with me. However, I am still very satisfied with the results of most of the pictures! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them..(take the whole shooting thing from my perspective of course) ~Rachel

Week Nine

I took a trip to New York City this weekend with some friends from the south. They had never been to the city before so it was a whole new experience for them. They were looking at the city through fresh eyes. Now I've been to the city countless times, but I decided to bring my Rebel with a 28-135mm lens instead of just a powershot. I tried to capture some shots as if it was the first time I was in the city. Granted this was a casual shoot, but I wanted to snap shots of objects that are commonly overlooked in the city, but are crucial for completion. Here's several of the shots I snapped.
