Week Five

Some friends of mine opened up a Salon in Southington, CT several months ago, Couture Salon. Already they are booming in business. They had a "Glam Night" this past Thursday night introducing their new Motives products by Lauren Ridenger, the same make-up that the Kardashian sisters wear, and some awesome discount for the evening. Couture Salon has such a trendy, vintage, and classy design with a staff to match it. I was honored to go and shoot some photos of the evening's events! Check out their website for all your hair and makeup needs!www.couturehairsalon.com

Week Three

I couldn't help but be absolutely fascinated with the littlest things in life this week. Something positive can come from everything.
For instance, crazy amounts of snow, they work
perfect for a weekly blog :)

Week Two

Somehow, this week was shorter than last week..Funny how that can happen. However, I mustered up the courage to get out and into the snow for these shots.

Week One

This week the power went out during one of the snow storms for about six hours at around 5:30pm. During that time, my family and I lit candles throughout the house. As I began taking pictures, I plugged in my headphones and a song by Chris Tomlin, "Our God." As soon as I captured this image, I heard him sing, "Into the darkness you shine.." At that moment, I canned the rest of my attempts at photos this week, and accordingly chose this one.

Twenty-Eleven Project

My newest project is an accountability project with an amazing artist, who happens to be my 'Uncle', :) Ed Tuttle. We both graduated with our degrees in May this past year. He with his Masters and I with my Associates. Since then we've both been slacking in using our talents for the sake of enjoyment. So, from now on, every week, we will share a piece of art. Whether a sketch, a painting, or a photograph, it will be posted here for the viewing. I am truly excited about this journey and adventure of inspiration and design. I am so enthused that he asked me to do this with him, because he is such a talented, incredible artist and man of God and I know that this will help the both of us as artists and as Christians to combine the two lifestyles into one composition. So every Saturday I will be posting a fresh photograph of any sort, and perhaps a sketch here or there, for any to enjoy.
Until then,
Rachel
